Ingredients
2kg/4.5lbs ‘smoked pork chop messenger meat’ ham
¼ cup butter, melted
⅓ cup liquid honey
¼ cup dijon mustard
½ tsp kosher salt
1x orange, sliced into wedges with peel on
Fresh thyme for garnish
Instructions
- Take the ham roast out of the fridge 1 hour before cooking to warm to room temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Place the ham in a baking dish with 4 orange wedges.
- Make the glaze by whisking together melted butter, honey, mustard and kosher salt.
- Brush ¾ of the glaze over the ham and save the rest of the glaze for later.
- Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, basting the ham with the juices in the pan after 45 minutes.
- Cook the ham until the thermometer reads between 145F.
- Spread the remaining glaze over top and let the glaze sit for a few minutes.
- Then loosely tent the ham with foil and rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve garnished with extra wedges of orange and fresh thyme sprigs around the serving dish.
